 Job Description:

Supervises and directs the delivery of skilled emergency services in a variety of areas including basic life support, advanced life support, mentoring, training, quality improvement, public education, volunteer member coordination, public event coordination, mass casualty management, and other duties as required. This position serves as the officer in charge of a group of paid and volunteer personnel in a field, office or formal classroom setting. The position will require flexible scheduling to fulfill both the administrative and operational requirements of the position. Position requirements include active participation with the medical director, Big Lakes Regional EMS Council and Genesee County EMS Council. Additional position duties to include:

  • NYS BEMS Course Sponsorship Administration
  • NYS BEMS CME Program Coordination
  • NYS BEMS Controlled Substances Agent


  • 5 years of EMT-Paramedic experience
  • Current certifications as a NYS Paramedic, ACLS, ITLS/PHTLS, CPR & PALS/EPC.
  • High School Education or GED


  • Supervisory Experience (EMS, Fire, business, etc.)
  • EMS Instruction and Education (CLI/CIC/CPR)
  • Public Event Coordination (festivals, sporting events, etc.)

Active membership in a volunteer ambulance setting is often a footstep to gain experience that many hospitals, ambulance corps, and other Allied Health related fields desire. Alumni from Le Roy Ambulance Service, Inc. have enjoyed diverse careers in Medicine. Ranging from Occupational Therapy to Respiratory Therapy. From Phlebotemy to Nursing. From Laboratory work to Pharmacy. The possibilities are endless. Volunteer membership opportunities include: Drivers, Medics, Base Officers and Auxiliary/ Social Memberships. No experience is necessary. We provide all training and will partner you with an experienced and concerned mentor. Training evolves into clearance when your mentor is satisfied that you have met all of the requirements. Most importantly, when YOU feel ready with your experience, then you become a provider on our team. Continuing training is offered through our Training Department, and is provided at no cost to you. Annual conferences and distance learning opportunities abound for the active member.
